I had Friday off for the holiday. I woke up and did some cleaning and went for a nice walk with userillusion and buffyeas before Andy arrived. We had a slight direction miscommunication, but he made it to my place. We waited for Bernie and then headed to Mongo for food. While at Mongo, we were given free tickets to Second City! We hurriedly paid for our food and got to Second City in the knick of time.
At Second City, we saw Steve Serling (Steve's biggest claim to fame is that he is the only person to be cussed out on my behalf. ;) ) and caught up a bit. It turns out that Steve lives around the corner from us. Go figure.
Anyway, we went to play putt-putt after that. The scores were 58, 59 and 60. I lost (third place), but I am adamant that I would have won if I didn't have my purse on my shoulder for the first two holes. My purse throws everything off for some reason. *shrugs*
Saturday, I woke up in the early hours of the morning and userillusion and I went to volunteer.
We both did a portion of class this week, so that was fun (for me). Somehow, my portion of the class ended up being about toilets. Oh, the wonders of the teenage mind. I came home and hung out with Andy for a little while longer. He departed before we ate and headed out to mrstevo's party.
The party was fun. green_heart kept feeding me assorted shots and I was drunk before I knew it. I stumbled off to the bathroom at one point and my phone was ringing. I looked and saw a number I didn't recognize, but I decided to answer it, anyway. It turned out to be psi032 calling from Iraq! I was thoroughly excited (though, some of this excitement stemmed from my drunkenness). I talked to him for an hour about everything (I think I told him a bunch of stuff I really wasn't intending on telling. Oh well).
At one point, I came back to get my car keys because I needed to plug up the phone to my charger. buffyeas had my keys on her and when she gave them to me, she said "Don't start the car." psi032 heard this conversation and said, "That's so cute. Does she think you're going to drive to Iraq?" I thought that was funny.
Anyway, as glad as I was to hear from him, I did miss a bit of the party. I came back in and had some sort of conversation with brokenreel and assorted others (it's blurry) before we left.
Sunday, I woke up quite hungover. I managed to drag myself out of bed and do the family thing all day. I got home and watched my shows before going to bed.
It was a much needed break. I was really stressed out last week, so the three day weekend came right on time. :)
