Update: NaNoWriMo and other tidbits

So, after a week of writing, I'm have written 9,628 words on my NaNovel. Since my goal through yesterday was 9100 words, I'm doing good so far, even with taking Fridays off in my writing schedule for a weekly break.

I am having a ball with NaNo. It is so much fun. I went to the Sunday meetup in Ferndale yesterday and it was a riot and a half. There were about 15 of us who commandeered several tables at the poor Coffee Beanery. Somehow, I ended up at the "rowdy" table. I don't know how that happened. (What? Don't look at me like that). We talked about a lot of things, including Peter Pan, Jehovah's Witnesses, Dante's Inferno and the flatulence issues of cheese. I really didn't get much writing done, but I got enough to finish my daily writing off before Desperate Housewifes. That's really what matters isn't it?

I did something incredibly impulsive yesterday - I bought an iPod. Did I have the money for one, really? No. Did I dip into savings to buy it? Yes. Do I feel any guilt? Hell no. The way I see it, I gotta do something for myself sometimes.

I had a good day on Saturday. I got hit on by the ubercute Verizon rep. and then got two more compliments after that. I felt pretty on Saturday. :)

Friday there was Olive Garden goodness with Bernie, msjellybean and buffyeas. It was followed by some drinking, sans Bernie. We all tuckered out around midnight, so it was not the swinging off the chandelier type of party you'd imagine.

Once again, my weekend in reverse.

I'm glad it's working out for you. I was too chicken shit to do it this year. Plus I've got a thing I'm working on now that should have been finished several days ago.

I really want to get my creative fiction juices flowing, we'll talk about it soon. I'm counting on you to force me; beat me 'til I say my name is Toby even.

What exactly IS an iPod? I keep hoping I'll magically understand but can't quite figure ot out...

Ok, let's try it again

Go to Apple's web site, it explains it better than I do:

YES! Welcome, Brandi. Join us, the owners of the iBestFriend. Did they teach you the secret handshake?

Oh, yeah.

I'd show you, but I'd have to kill you.

Seriously, the iPod is the best. thing. eva.
I know, I learned the shake 4 years ago with Gen 1 ;-)

Now we can dance in the commercials.
